The National Renewed Hope Movement, a political pressure group for the re-election vision of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, has described the death of Olorogun Oscar Eyovbirere Ibru, Chairman of the Ibru Organization as a huge loss, not only to the Urhobo nation or Delta state but to the entire Nigeria nation.
In a tribute signed by the National President of the movement, Hon Dr Liege Lord Keston Okoro Muhammed Al-Amin, the group disclosed that the news of Oscar Ibru’s death at 67 came as a rude and profound shock as well as a source of immense grief to the entire Nigerian business community.
‘’Olorogun Oscar Ibru was not just a name; he was a titan of industry, a visionary leader, and a true son of Delta State. As the eldest son of the late industrialist, Olorogun Michael Ibru, he inherited a colossal legacy and, through his ingenuity, charisma, and astute business acumen, he did not only sustained but expanded the Ibru dynasty's extensive empire across shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce.
"His life, though ran out at 67 after a brief illness, was one of exceptional achievement, impact, and service to humanity. He exemplified the grit, entrepreneurial spirit, and generosity that Delta State is known for.
''He was a job creator, a philanthropist, and a cultural ambassador who always championed the cause of the Urhobo nation and Nigeria at large.
"The void left by his departure is substantial. Delta State has lost one of its most prominent figures whose influence transcended ethnic and regional boundaries.
"His contributions to Nigeria’s economic development were undeniable, and his presence in the corporate and social landscape will be sorely missed.
"On behalf of the National Renewed Hope Movement, I extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the entire Ibru family of Agbarha-Otor, the Urhobo nation, and all those who mourn this irreparable loss’’, the statement added.
